About Us

Our funny family:

• BHE, the Best Husband Ever.  He left France in the 70s, to live in California and Boston. Engineer, PhD Berkeley and the best cook in the world.  Since he "found" me in Paris in 1998, he has left his preferred country to come back to his native nation.  And he grumbles, grumbles, grumbles ... first of all because all French grumble about everything all the time and second because it is really getting difficult these days.  Today, when someone asks him his nationality, he replies "Alsacian".  And he has been cooking for the whole family every day for the past fifteen years breakfast, lunch and diner (and Rose behind me says "luckily so"). So to sum it up, a real sweetheart !
• Me, the mother of it all.  German from the Black Forest, having done my studies in London and Germany, then worked in Finance in Paris, for German banks and a big American rating agency. Created my own rating agency in Berlin and in 2007 our real estate agency in the back country of Cannes, on the French Riviera.  And have finally agreed in August 2013 to leave France, the country which has adopted me 25 years ago.
• Johann, the oldest son, born in 1990, has already left us 18 months ago to move to Vancouver.  Speaks good German (I was still motivated then), is someone very trusworthy and psychological.  Works in Internet Marketing, which corresponds very well to his personality.  An excellent friend for his pals and after some rough teenage years a wonderful son.
• Marie, the (can't say "old", can't say "big) "first born"  princess, born in 1993, currently studying in London.  After excellent A-levels in Mougins School, she will now finish a four year Bachelor of Business Administration program in only ... 2 years.  Just fabulous, the girl !  She has just been accepted for a MBA program in San Francisco, where she will impress this corner of the world with her unique mixture of efficiency, beauty and creativity.
• Théo, our "sandwich kid", born in 1997.  The kindest of all our five children, always ready to help and smooth everything out (and the true hero of all girls at his school, it's driving me bunkers).  We thought he had decided to study medecin, which corresponds very well to his character, but finaly he wants to be more entrepreneurial.  The US will help him find his path, without any doubt.
• Rose, the (can't say "little", can't say "small") "second born" princess, born in 2000. In reality she is already taller than her older sister Marie (who will end up being the smallest of the five sibblings, she will LOVE reading this).  Rose is just perfect. Excellent student, always conscientious, a bit grumpy (that's from BHE), a bit anxious (that's from me), very pretty and an excellent friend.   
• Oscar, the youngest one, born in 2003.  A scientist, since his very young age.  So EVERYTHING is reasoned, and discussed.  Going to bed at 8 pm?  No, at 8:10.  Always has been hooked on the internet, he was born with the typepad under his fingers. French grammar?  Not for him.  He is concentrating on his interests and ONLY his interests.  Has always been fascinated by his American friends, good thing.
